They are intended to provide the community a means of communication with their neighbors and friends that live within the coverage areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Multiple repeaters have been installed, and more are on the way. First, lets check our eligibility:<\/strong><br><br> The GMRS licensee must be:<br> * 18 years or older<br> * Not be a representative of a foreign government<br> * Applying on yours and your families behalf (a business can not apply for a blanket GMRS license, but individuals can use the radios for work)<br><br> <strong>Step one: Obtain\u00a0an FRN number<\/strong><br><br> Start by obtaining a 10-digit FRN (FCC Registered Number) from the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/apps.fcc.gov\/cores\/userLogin.do?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Commission Registration System (CORES)<\/a>. We recommend completing this process on a computer (the buttons are quite small using a mobile device).<br><br> 1. Click \u201cRegister\u201d (middle of the three boxes) and set up your account<br> * We recommend using an email account that you\u2019ll have access to permanently (ie: not a school or work email address that you might lose access at some point).<br><br> 2. Once you&#8217;ve created your account,\u00a0log in\u00a0using the email address (username) and password you just set up.<br><br> 3. Select \u201cRegister FRN\u201d from the central box (third option from top)<br><br> 4. Follow the steps to confirm yourself as an\u00a0<strong><em>individual<\/em><\/strong>, complete the FRN registration form, then press submit.<br> * Note: you will need to input your social security number or a tax identification number at this step<br> * You will receive your 10 digit FRN number after submitting at the top of the landing page.<br><br> <strong>Step Two: Apply for\u00a0your GMRS license<\/strong><br> Once you\u2019ve obtained your FRN, you can apply for a GMRS License in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wireless2.fcc.gov\/UlsEntry\/licManager\/login.jsp\">FCC\u2019s<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wireless2.fcc.gov\/UlsEntry\/licManager\/login.jsp\">License Manager<\/a>.\u00a0<br> * You will need your FRN number and the password created for the CORES website to login.\u00a0<br><br> 1. Once logged in, you will see an option at the top of the left-hand sidebar to \u201cApply for a new license&#8221;\u00a0<br><br> 2. In the dropdown, scroll all the way to the bottom to \u201cZA &#8211; General Mobile Radio\u201d, then\u00a0click &#8220;Continue&#8221;<br><br> 3. Follow the rest of the application. There will be questions to answer with dropdown menus and a page for you to enter your contact information. You will then arrive at the Summary\u00a0page.\u00a0Click &#8220;Continue to Certify&#8221; if everything looks correct.<br><br> 4. Next you will be asked to sign by entering your first name, middle initial, and last name. The &#8220;Title&#8221; field is optional.<br><br> 5. Once you have successfully submitted your application, click the button to Continue to CORES website for payment completion.<br><br> 6. Log back into CORES using the email address &amp; password from step 4 then select the second option from the menu titled \u201cManage Existing FRNs | FRN Financial | Bills and Fees \u201c<br><br> 7. Then select the second option \u201cFRN Financial\u201d then \u201cView\/Make Payments\u201d under the Action column.<br><br> 8. Finally, select \u201cMake Payment\u201d and follow the instructions.\u00a0<br><br> 9.
